The squeak of training shoes, the smack of rubber on arms and legs, and cries of as an opponent goes down...

Yes, this is dodgeball -- that slightly dangerous, sometimes humiliating playground favourite.

But now, it's all grown up, with referees and two teams of players serious about competing to win.

If you thought a game that's as simple as its name implies is just for kids, think again.

"No, not at all ! If you saw the movie you've seen clearly that it's an adult game. When you get to adulthood it's a lot more competitive, you throw a little bit harder you know, there are a lot more skills involved." Explained Alex Klepacz, founder of 4ever Young Sports.

The movie in question, titled 'Dodgeball' sparked something of a comeback for the game. After its release in 2004 a national league was created, and the Dodgeball World Championships that are held every year in Las Vegas enjoy a growing audience.
