Eating Healthy: It Matters

These days, so much premium is being placed on ‘good food’, where ‘good’ usually means pleasing to the taste buds. Thus, people end up prioritizing taste and their preferences for taste, without really considering the larger issues that are far more important. Among those important issues would be health, and the human being’s responsibility to really eat healthy. True enough, in a world that prioritizes only taste, it might be difficult to really commit to a healthy diet, but all it takes is willpower as firm as any strong tree, and you’re good to go.

A major concern would be this: would eating healthy mean an unhealthy pocket or bank account? Would it actually cost more to eat a healthier diet? The answer to your question is a big fat NO. Whoever said that going for healthier food was more expensive was clearly not working hard enough, not looking hard enough. There are a lot of ways by which you can go for that healthier diet, while at the same time not compromising your budget.

First tip: remember to plan your meals.

Planning your meals allows you to avoid the unnecessary (and most likely unhealthy) status of being too free to choose. Set up a daily or weekly plan, and make sure that you stick to it. Make your meals a healthy mix of the right kind of food, in the right amounts.

Second tip: stick to your grocery list.

Have you ever had that experience where you had a list but you just couldn’t stick to it, and you end up buying more than you intended? Well, you really need to learn to stick to that precious list that you prepared. This ensures that you get to buy only the healthy food you originally planned to buy, as well as saves you from overspending.

Third tip: cook at home.

In the same way that shopping at home is cheaper (think of that precious Park N Shop coupon discount and that gobuy.com.ph coupon), cooking at home is not only healthy, but it’s cheaper, too. Cooking at home saves you from the usually unhealthy and usually expensive prospect of having to eat out.
