Drawing a Blankenberge
CFL announces special trains for a day trip to the Belgian coast from Luxembourg, if that's your thing.
The new service, called the Luxembourg-Blankenberge-Express, is organised by the Groupement des Amis du Rail (GAR) will run every Sunday from July 17 to August 28 inclusive.
Each Sunday, the train will leave Luxembourg at 7.02am and arrive in Blankenberge at 10.52 later that morning, with stops in Kleinbettingen, Arlon and Bruges en route. The return will depart Blankenberge at 6.09pm, arriving in Luxembourg at 10.01pm.
Reservations are obligatory, and can be made from Monday, July 4, at the Gare Centrale as well as the stations in Wasserbillig, Ettelbruck, Esch and Belval-University.
If you are still sitting on the fence about this one, listen up: on the journey to the coast, each passenger will be given a free croissant and a hot drink... Nice.
