Video: Lion King 3D Review
Parents beware, The Lion King is back.
In a hakunha matata-like moment, one of the all-time classic animations is let-loose on new technology.
And for the most part it works brilliantly.

The Lion King has always been one of the most unversally loved features of the Disney canon. And the story is a familiar one :
Tricked by his Uncle Scar (Jeremy Irons) into thinking he killed his father Mufasa (James Earl Jones), guilt-ridden lion cub Simba (played by Jonathan Taylor Thomas in younger years and Matthew Broderick as an adult) flees into exile.
Growing up in the wild Simba is soon called upon to rescue his people from Scar's evil reign.
Alnog the way the cub meets wonderful character's such as Timon and Pumba, and gets into some of Disney's best know songs I Just Can’t Wait To Be King and the aforementioned Hakunha Matata.
The 3D conversion works best in the sweeping landscapes and stampede sections, but only serves to remind how stunning the hand drawn artwork was in the first place.
Remember, though, that The Lion King does have a couple of nightamrish scenes that'll probably scare young un's witless, for a cartoon, this does carry an almighty emotional wallop.
We award this film 5 stars.
