Football: Red Lions entertain Macedonia in re-arranged friendly
February 29 gives Luxembourg a chance to reply to the 4-1 drubbing in 2008.
Macedonia will face Luxembourg at the Stade Josy Bathel on February 29, 2012.
Macedonia had attempted to schedule a friendly with both Bosnia and Peru but a deal could not be reached so Macedonia settled for Luxembourg.
This will be the first game that will be used by manager John Toshack for the start of preparations for the upcoming 2014 World Cup qualifications.
This will be the second matchup (both friendlies) between Macedonia and Luxembourg.
On 20 August 2008, in the first matchup between these two national teams, Macedonia smashed four past the Red Lions, the third of which was a belter (see video below).
Suspect defending saw Luxembourg four-nil down before a long ball move and efective finish gave a late consolation for the home side.
