Living: French survey rates Luxembourg shops as second best in world for service
Shame they refer to Liberty Avenue
So, we got an article in yesterday, discussing the relative merits of Luxembourg's customer service in comparison to some of the best locations across the globe.
Luxembourg ranked quite well, but the placement of Avenue Liberty (Ave. de la Liberte) as second in worldwide list was an odd choice.
French company Presence, who deal in mystery shopping and other commercial surveys sent undercover 'shoppers' to various boutiques worldwide.
They found Luxembourg to be among the very best for customer service.
Those who live in Luxembourg know that there are scant stores along the busy city-centre street (from memory there are some bars, Extrabold, Schlecker, a hi-end audio shop, Body Veda and various shoe shops), but clearly those that are present have impressed those that tick boxes for a living.
Singapore's Orchard Road tops the list followed by Luxembourg's Ave. de la Liberte.
A French company sent shopping spies to more than 400 stores in 30 popular shopping streets and asked them to grade their experiences, including customer service and restrooms.
The Champs Elysees in Paris ranked only 16th. Researchers reported that customer services in most stores were unsatisfactory and the salespeople did not smile enough
The results show that while 60 percent of salespeople in the 30 shopping streets were well-mannered, about 30 percent chit-chatted with colleagues in front of customers - I think that is something we have all been privvy to.
