Irish Club's Charity Ball raises over €4,000
A fantastic night was held over the weekend at the Parc Belair where the Irish Club's Charity Ball took place. The evening's theme was Hollywood Glamour!
After Club President Carrie Milne welcomed the 90+ attendees and Irish Ambassador Diarmuid O'Leary complimented the club on its achievements, a delicious 3-course buffet meal was consumed by all.
Geoff Thompson assumed the role of auctioneer for the evening and with the help of committee members Fiona Mulhern and Hilary Fitzgibbon, they auctioned off 40 items in aid of the Ilula Orphan Program in Tanzania and the Thailand Boat Project, raising more than €4,000 in the process.
The Oscars for Best Female went to Grainne McKean, for Best Male to Mark Summers and for best couple to Peter & Angela Milne.
The dance floor then filled up with Radio Daze playing into the small hours of the morning.
Thanks to Liz O'Connor too for her event planning. And John Chalmers and Geoff Thompson both left the event minus their goatees, shaved off in aid of charity by Sam O'Dea. All in a good cause!
