Golf training centre planned for Kockelscheuer
Plans for a new golf training centre have been given the go-ahead at the Kockelscheuer on 4.31 hectares of land.
An agreement has now been signed from 1st February 2010 until 31st January 2019 for use of the 4.31-hectare of land in front of the "Beim Kaesberg".
Exactly when the golf training centre will be opened depends a lot a on whether and when the Environment Ministry's plans, that need to be amended, are approved. There also appears to be a bit of confusion over part of the land and who actually owns it.
As far as Station can ascertain from the slightly muddled information that is surfacing, this could well be more like a golf driving range. i.e. a training ground where the ball is whacked from a fixed point, thus pleasing many environmentalists as golfers are not traipsing around the terrain.
Whatever happens, some kind of golf course or other definitely has the go-ahead, but what and when is another forthcoming chapter.
