Belgian plea for blood donors
After the train accident near Brussels, Belgium has launched a pea for donors including to Luxembourg residents.
Luxembourg has about 26,000 blood donors a year which is actually not that much but they give a lot, states a spokesman for the Grand Duchy's Blood Transfusion Centre. This is enough for the country's needs.
Luxembourg, through the Red Cross, even has agreements with its French and German neighbours in moments of need.
However, the need is now in Belgium. After the rail accident near Brussels a plea has gone out in Belgium for blood donors, and just over the border in the Province de Luxembourg, a campaign has been launched to find donors to help the victims.

Collections are being made both in Arlon and Athus, just on the border with Luxembourg.
