Speeding Luxembourg car flashed 206 times in Paris
A Luxembourg hire car was flashed by speed cameras in the Paris region 206 times, costing the driver 450 points and a 15,000 euro fine.
This is going to be expensive! A Frenchman who hired a car in Luxembourg and drove in Paris seemed to think he was invincible and untraceable if he drove fast, very fast in his homeland.
The driver was flashed by speed control cameras no less than 206 times in the region of Paris in his Luxembourg hire car, stated a weekly Paris newspaper.
But that wasn’t the only offence he committed. 11 times he was caught driving while using a mobile phone. Just to top everything off, the driver also had quite a few parking tickets to his name.
This all added up and French police state that this amounts to 450 points against his driving licence. As there are only 12 points on a licence, the guy lost his licence a little more than 37 times over! In fact he only had 2 points left on his licence as it was.
Now the unlucky and rather foolish driver faces a licence withdrawal of at least 3 years and a fine of more than 15,000 euro, stated a notification letter.
French police managed to obtain the information about the offending driver by contacting the car rental company in Luxembourg, who handed over the driver information.
