New cycle route through the Petrusse valley
The cycle and pedestrian route E9 is now complete, and passes through the Petrusse on a structure that passes under the old river bridge.
Therefore, this new infrastructure allows cyclists and pedestrians to follow a route along the Pétrusse without having to negotiate steps or steep slopes. Made of concrete and glass, it meanders under the old bridge arch from rue d’Anvers. It is lit by LED lights set within the structure.
The new route is more direct, easier, and of course gives the user a calmer route with pretty nature views of the Pétrusse valley and its little stream.
This project is the concept of "mobilité douce” or gentle mobility, with its aim amongst other things, to increase the number of journeys made by bike and to achieve this goal, reduce the distances between different neighbourhoods.
