Guy Hellers to seek new challenges

Guy Hellers has stepped down as coach of Luxembourg's National squad. The announcement, made on Tuesday, comes after nearly six years in the job.

The 45-year-old former international – who was capped 55 times by Luxembourg - replaced Dane Alan Simonsen as coach back in December 2004 but said on Tuesday that it was time to “turn over a new leaf”.

Under-21 boss Luc Holtz will take over as caretaker coach, in the meantime while a suitable replacement is found.

Luxembourg are currently preparing for their bid to qualify for the Euro 2012 Championships where they have been drawn in Group D along with France, Romania, Belarus, Albania and Bosnia.
