Weekend traffic jams ahead

The ACL has released a warning of possible traffic jams in Luxembourg, surrounding countries and beyond as traffic returns from holiday.

The ACL are predicting “significant” traffic jams on the motorways this coming weekend mostly due to returning holiday traffic.

The “blackest” day regarding traffic jams is today, Friday, claim ACL. French and German motorways on Saturday and Sunday are likely to be extremely busy.

France, which has a system of classing its motorway traffic density by colours, has ranked its roads orange (both departures and returning traffic) for Friday. Saturday is classed red for returning traffic and orange for departing. Sunday looks a little better with the orange for returning traffic and green for departures.

Big warning for anyone travelling to and from Italy as the public holiday on 15th August "Ferragosto" means that major traffic problems are expected in the country especially from north to south, this could also seep into France and connect with their dense motorways.

Bonne route!
