Luxembourg's “Summer in the City” season is drawing to a close but not before a explosion of concerts on September 11 with international world-music acts from the likes of Touré Kunda, Splash! Blackman Uncle Rich and musicians from the QuattroPole cities in the region.

In total 15 concerts on 2 stages!

It's the end of summer in Luxembourg and for the end of “Summer In The City” Luxembourg City Tourist Office, in collaboration with No Borders association and QuattroPole, is organsing a series of 15 free concerts on Saturday September 11.

The concerts kick off at 11am and continue until midnight with national and international artists who will take it in turns to play on 2 stages: 1 on the Place d'Armes and the other on Place Guillaume II right in the heart of the City Centre.

This will be the last time we can listen to music under the banner “Summer in the City”, at least for this year anyway.

Of course the concerts are free, as with other concerts in the season, but the event will support the campaign "Solidarity4Change!" Whose purpose is to raise funds for an educational project supported by the association SOS Enfants du Monde. Funds raised will go to building school for 500 children in Ziguinchor in Senegal, one of the poorest countries in the world.

Solidarity bracelets will be sold around the City. In addition, a “gourmet village” will offer a culinary journey to discover the flavours of Cape Verde, Senegal, Morocco, Cameroon, Brazil and India all on Place Guillaume II.

One part of the program is a series of musical acts from the four QuattroPole cities of the region, namely Luxembourg, Metz, Trier and Saarbrücken. The groups selected are a reflection of exchanges and cooperation between musical partners of the border cities.

The other part will be all about world music and mixing of cultures, and in the spirit of the campaign Solidarity4Change! "The headliners are indisputable Touré Kunda (Senegal), pioneer of world music and Splash!, a star from the Cape Verde.
