Luxembourg: Small country, big figures!
Loads of interesting facts and figures about Luxembourg have recently been updated in a new booklet by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce entitled: "Luxembourg: Small countries, large numbers"
Did you know that Luxembourg was founded in 963, now has 116 communes, has an area of 2,586 square kilometres and is the 19th financial centre in the world with 149 banks?
Would you have also thought that 45 satellites from Luxembourg are currently orbiting Earth, that more than 1.5 million passengers pass through Luxembourg Airport, more than 194 commercial shipping vessels flew the flags of Luxembourg in 2010, the National Highway System has a length of 2894 km and the number of cars listed in Luxembourg was 329,038 in 2009?
And so the list goes on...

The booklet is both fun and educational and shows the Grand Duchy in all its facts in figures. The publication from the Chamber of Commerce is aimed not only at professionals but also the general public especially focusing on young people with the aim of raising awareness of nationwide statistics in general and the specifics of the Luxembourg economy in particular. The idea is to arouse youth curiosity and thereby contribute to the promotion of entrepreneurship.
